Today was the Cook Bay Yacht Club Sailpast and our Marina was buzzing with excitement as Sailors here who are CBYC members got ready and headed out.

What is a Sailpast? Sailpasts are reminiscent of the Naval tradition of the Admiral Reviewing the Fleet. In modern yacht clubs a Sailpast is a salute to the Commodore and marks the official start of the sailing season. Each sailboat salutes by luffing their jib or dipping their ensign (if under power). It is a tradition steeped in centuries of tradition and is always an exciting sight.

Happy sailing!
